vuelingVueling is the first low-cost airline to fly from Madrid to Tenerife. The company offers up to three daily flights both to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, the two islands with the greatest air traffic in the archipelago. Both destinations are very attractive for leisure passengers as well as business travellers, who already represent 22% of the total traffic between Madrid and Tenerife and 27% in the connection with Gran Canaria.

Vueling's landing in the Canary Islands will increase the offer of flights between Madrid and the Islands, bringing benefits as much to Canarian residents as to visitors: in the connections with Madrid, the number of seats will increase by up to 28% in Tenerife North, and by 21% in Gran Canaria. The route Madrid-Tenerife currently offers 27,000 seats per week in high season, while Madrid-Gran Canaria surpasses 36,000 seats. Vueling will provide up to 7,500 extra seats per week in each route.

In tune with what has happened in other markets, Vueling's entrance in these two routes will imply a reduction in the current rates by an estimate of 50%. The airline will offer seats in all its flights starting at 35€ per journey, all included. Vueling foresees transporting over 300,000 passengers in each route per complete operational year.
