House Museum Miguel de Unamuno: The old Fuerteventura Hotel, that lodged Miguel de Unamuno during its exile in the island in the first quarter of the XX century, exposes now the House- Museum of Unamuno. Here we can admire the spaces and objects used by this famous philosopher and writer in Fuerteventura. There are pictures and texts that arise from his pen demonstrating the intense relationship that he established with the island. C/Virgen of the Rosary, 9. Pto. of del Rosario. Tel: 928 851 400.

 

Castillo de Antigua: Declared Artistic Historical Monument the 22 of April of 1949, Castillo de Antigua comes perfectly defined in the book “Notes for the History of the Old Fortifications of the Canary Islands”, “… a monument of exceptional archaeological-historical importance: it is a tower-fortress that seems to be from the beginnings of the XV century …” becoming therefore the oldest recorded castle of the Canary Islands.

 

Molino de Antigua Crafts Centre:  It is a mill of gofio (typical toasted cereal flour), in which interior we can find the old machinery used for milling. The centre has beautiful gardens with local flora such as cacti and palm trees. Tel: 928 851 400.

 

Eco-museum of La Alcogida: This cultural space is formed by a town of seven houses representing the local architecture that have been recovered respecting the elements, forms and construction equipments. This town recreates the rural life of the Island with samples of agricultural activities, cattle and crafts. In addition, it has two ethnographical houses acclimated with the elements of the daily life of farming families. Puerto del Rosario. Tel: 928 851 400. 

Molinos de Valles de Ortega-Antigua: This area is located in the local road of Los Valles a la Corte, Antigua. Declared Artistic Historical Monument in July 1994 and, like all the mills of the Island, it is a property of cultural interest.

 

Museo Arqueológico de Betancuria: (Archaeological museum of Betancuria): This museum has five rooms dedicated to exhibitions of which two are destined to archaeological material, like native idols and ceramics, explanatory texts of the first European expeditions to the Canary Islands and about the material culture of the old settlers, the Mahos.

 

Museo Casa del Grano La Cilla: It dates from 1919, a place in which the visitor can get to know the traditional agricultural cycle, its relations with the seasons, the different types of grains and measures, as well as an large collection of agricultural utensils related to what was the first source of richness of Fuerteventura.
