LOOPY┤S

In 1972, Gunnar Suneson (the Swedish) and Lewis Turner (the English) decided to open a restaurant in San Agustín, then the most developed part of the south of the island of Gran Canaria. The original restaurant had a limited menu and only occupied what is today the superior floor of the premises.

In search of a decoration that provided a unique personality, Mrs. Suneson painted some posters on wood; from England they brought old copper objects, photos and other curiosities. Now, the clients continue with this legacy, not only the regulars, but also those who understand that all the magic is possible thanks to the effort they make in sending their contributions by mail or in person.

From the beginning, Loopy’s stood out by the excellent team of professionals who work it, some from almost the start of the restaurant. Its exquisite client treatment is a distinguishing characteristic, and it is not by chance that many clients send photos, notes and postcards that enrich their walls.

Everything in Loopy´s is a surprise, a place with a very cosy treatment and with a very ample menu offering pasta, meat, fish, varied salads, in addition to a large variety of beers.

There are 3 floors and several dining rooms to choose from but if you can, go for a stroll around the restaurant to enjoy the decoration on the walls, with bank notes from different countries, to photos of famous cowboys, posters from Wild West movies and even original pistols.

A suggestion besides eating in Loopy´s, is to browse through their website, specially the section about the famous visitors. You’ll be surprised!
